Halifax Building Society, St George's Road, St Annes.

In the early 1920s the Halifax Building Society was located in rooms above shops in St Annes Road West (The Square). The present (2017) office opened at 26, St George's Road in 1924 in what had been a private residence. The main building was converted to form the building society office and the rear became the single-storey shop units in Garden Street. The conversion was designed by the local architect Walter Wade.
