Value of Game Killed at Lytham, 1845

Throughout the Victorian era the human population of Lytham was greatly outnumbered by other residents, rabbits and hares.

The value of the game killed upon the estates of Mr. Clifton, of Lytham Hall, Lancashire, last year, has been estimated at upwards of £1,500.

21,000 head of hares and rabbits are said have been destroyed.
