St.Annes Pier - 1899

A new entrance was erected in 1899.

The new pier entrance - viewed from the pier deck c1899. The gabled entrance lodge, designed by John Dent Harker in a half-timbered style, constructed 1898-9. He also designed the Indian Pavilion, Blackpool North Pier (1875) and the pavilion, South Pier, Blackpool (1893) both in an escapist exotic oriental style.
