George White (1810-1880), Photographer, Blackpool

George White was born in the Chesterfield area
of Derbyshire, about 1810 and married Ann Melbourne at North Wingfield in
September 1834. The family moved to the Fylde in the 1830s. He was
an artist & silhouettist, later becoming a photographer.

Preston (Lancashire) for several days.

He lived at No.1, Queen’s Terrace, which was the last
house at the north end of the new (1848) terrace.
He is listed in directories as living at "1 Queen's
Terrace, Adelaide Street, Blackpool" between 1849 &1868. In 1869 he is
listed at 33 Adelaide Street, Blackpool.
George was elected as a Commissioner for Blackpool Local
Board (town council) in the 1850s.
